Is The Gypsy King Going To Rule The World?
British boxing is looking rosy once again. Not since the early nineties when we had the likes of Lennox, Big Frank, Chrissy Eubank, Prince Naseem and of course the fantastic ‘Dark Destroyer’ Nigel Benn has the fighting game been in such good shape.
Benn’s son Conor is a very exciting prospect and is currently 13-0; hopefully he’ll be stepping up in class as the year goes on and will challenge for a title. One fighter who wants a piece of him is Harlem Eubank (7-0) the nephew of ‘Simply the Best’. We’d make Conor the short priced favourite but what a fight that would be: Eubank/Benn III.
The heavyweight division is the one that’s really catching the public’s imagination. Tyson Fury has made a miraculous comeback and looks the real deal; his silky skills could see him as the champ of this division for years to come!
Unfortunately Anthony Joshua flopped against the plump Andy Ruiz Jr and showed once again that having a muscle ridden body isn’t necessarily the answer in the heavyweight division. Our office is split as to who would win the rematch but we still make AJ 4/11 with Ruiz 2/1.
