Last weekend was another one of those that got away with best bet selection Lord Du Mesnil getting chinned in the shadows of the post, lets hope for a luckier weekend ahead.
The quality of racing starts dropping off now on the lead up to Cheltenham, but there are some nice competitive handicaps on the television to get stuck into.
I’m starting my preview at Kempton, my best bet of the day runs in the 3-35, that’s DOUBLE SHUFFLE at around 9-1.
Double Shuffle loves Kempton and has form figures of -12252 here, including a second and a fifth in two King George’s and finishing second in this race twice (of 149 and 154) running of 150 this year he’s handicapped to run well and the better ground a massive positive too.
I will suggest a small each way saver on AZZERTI at around 25-1, that price is an insult on several runs. His run two back at Ascot behind Regal Encore who has franked that form since, he split Black Corton and Kildisart that day and had Crievehill and Mister Malarkey behind. He’s won of this handicap mark at Newbury in November, runs well here at Kempton too, so is just too big a price.
