Stew on Saturday Goodwin Racing

With the weather wiping out Newcastle, it proved to be a weekend to forget.

The weather will be playing a part in proceedings this weekend I’m sure too, it’s certainly going to be wet and wild again!

ITV4 are covering three meetings Newbury, Doncaster and Kelso.

My main bets this weekend were at Newbury but as that has succumbed to the weather my next bets are over at Doncaster in the 2-25.

I like the looks of a couple here, firstly DESTRIER at around 9-2.

When last seen he was 5-4 to win a handicap chase at Cheltenham, after travelling all over the winner until two out he dropped out tamely as if something was amiss.

The fact he’s been off the course since that must have been the case, he goes well fresh, has a handy four pound weight pull with favourite Dolos and was Grade 1 placed last season.

I suggest a small e/w saver on old boy GINO TRAIL at around 15-2.

He’s not the most consistent horse, but a change of scenery from Kerry Lee to Fergal O’Brien may have freshened him up and he is certainly very capable on his day.

This time last year at Sandown he was beaten four lengths by fav Dolos, but has a seventeen pound weight pull for that run, which proves he’s well handicapped.

Be lucky this weekend and as usual gamble responsibly!
